*Fraud Protection Workshop Aimed at Helping Senior Citizens*

A workshop titled “Protecting Seniors Against Fraud” will be offered to the
community on Friday, Oct. 19, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., at the Highland
Senior Center, 131 Monroe SE. The workshop will feature federal and state
agencies to educate senior citizens on recognizing and avoiding scams,
protecting identity and victim’s assistance. Attendees are encouraged to
bring documents such as bill collections, mail or flyers that might be

*Block Captain Conference Brings Together Neighborhood Safety Leaders This
Saturday*

*ABQ RIDE Honors Navajo Code Talkers for 2018 Wall of Fame*

ABQ RIDE invites the public to attend the Wall of Fame Ceremony, when the
Navajo (Diné) Code Talkers will be inducted as the 2018 honorees. The
ceremony takes place Friday, Oct. 26 at 11:15 a.m. at the Alvarado
Transportation Center at 1st and Central. The oldest living Code Talker,
John Kinsel, Sr. of Lukachukai, AZ, will be the honored guest. To learn

The Patrick Baca Library at Central and Unser will host a Community Baby

offer lots of information on healthcare, social services, cultural agencies
that work with young families, and much more. There will be gifts and

*2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan Public Meeting Invites Residents to
Share Ideas on Future Transportation Needs*

The Mid Region Council of Governments (MRCOG) invites the public to attend
a series of public input meetings for the Connections 2040 Metropolitan
Transportation Plan (MTP). The Connections 2040 MTP is the region's
long-range transportation plan. Connections 2040 will take a look at how
our metro area will grow over the next 20 years, what transportation needs
will be, and how those needs can be met.
