I agree with Wendy, wine and beer in restaurants works well for Nob Hill. I think our hood would thrive with more diverse commercial spaces, we have plenty of bars.

I am in favor of wine and
beer at a restaurant. I feel that it is the bars that only
serve alcohol that should be regulated and controlled more
closely.
My two cents,Wendy

Jim, that's exactly the problem. Too many
liquor licenses issued in one location. Isn't that
what has happened downtown? And look at all their problems
with too many liquor licensed establishments in one area.
The brawls, etc. Downtown is being cleaned up and
can't wait to get rid of them.
Nob Hill has it's own liquor
related issues. We've been on the news with our own
brawls and neighbors complaining.

Jim,
Are you representing the applicant?
As a partner in the planning firm Consensus Planning , Inc.,

If you have a financial interest in
this project - good for you, it sounds like you’re doing
well - but you should disclose it.

and would also point out that Calvary Baptist Church is
located on Central Avenue in the old Lobo Theater. They
moved into this location knowing that this was a commercial
block in Nob Hill surrounded by restaurants and bars. I
believe that both Zinc and Crazy Fish serve alcohol in the
same block. Zinc has a full bar. The previous restaurant,
Stella Blue, had a liquor license. Who are we trying to
protect here - the church that moved in knowing that they
were in the middle of Nob Hill?
If a restaurant is going to be competitive in
Nob Hill, they have to serve alcohol.
I am in support of this application.

I would be in favor of almost
anything including this request that would help this site
succeed.
