> In response to the Governor’s declaration of a Public Health Emergency and ban on large public gatherings, the City Council Meeting on Monday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m. will be held via Zoom video conference. Members of the public will have the ability to view the meeting through GOVTV on Comcast Channel 16, or to stream live on the GOVTV website at https://www.cabq.gov/culturalservices/govtv, or on YouTube at https://youtu.be/EV7jRggyua4. The GOVTV live stream can be accessed at these addresses from most smartphones, tablets, or computers. The video recording of this and all past meetings of the City Council will also remain available for viewing at any time on the City’s website.  Council Staff is available to help members of the public access pre-recorded Council meetings on-line at any time during normal business hours. Please call 768-3100 for assistance. > 2020 IDO Annual Update Applications Heading to City Council
> The 2020 IDO Annual Update applications for City-wide and Small Mapped Areas has left the Environmental Planning Commission with a recommendation of approval with conditions. The applications head next to the City Council for review and decision. Planning staff will create a redline draft that shows the EPC's recommended conditions of approval for Small Areas and Citywide changes. Public comments will be taken at Council's Land Use, Planning, and Zoning (LUPZ) Committee and at full City Council, so there are still multiple hearings to give input. The date for the first LUPZ committee meeting will be available once the bill is on the Letter of Introduction. > Solid Waste Seeks Public Input on Green Cart Pilot Program 
> The Solid Waste Management Department is exploring public interest in a Green Cart Pilot Program, diverting green waste from going into the waste stream. This pilot program would be for the curbside collection of residential green waste (leaves, grass, brush and branches) along with refuse and recycling. With feedback obtained from this survey, city staff will better understand residents' concerns, wants, and expectations for a residential curbside Green Cart Pilot Program, if implemented. > 2nd Judicial District Court Holding Civil Trials at South Valley Multipurpose Senior Center
> Balancing the need to continue COVID-safe practices with its obligation to keep the wheels of justice turning, the Civil Division of the Second Judicial District has started holding trials at the South Valley Multipurpose Senior Center. It is common for civil trials to involve multiple plaintiffs and/or defendants, as well as multiple attorneys representing those parties, and the need for social distancing makes it difficult to hold such trials in a regular courtroom in the downtown courthouse. Many civil trials could have ground to a halt without appropriate accommodation. The County-owned facility has space to accommodate a judge, court staff, and multiple attorneys and jurors. Several civil trials are scheduled at this facility throughout the end of the year. > Hodgin Neighborhood "Helpers" Assisting Residents with Hazardous Waste Disposal
> The Hodgin Neighborhood in District 7 has taken an active approach to helping neighbors and residents during the pandemic, and has created "Hodgin Helpers," a free initiative aimed at helping neighbors and reducing the load on City services. Through the end of March, the "Hodgin Helpers" encourage residents to NOT throw their hazardous household waste in City trash cans, but instead, they will help properly dispose of these items. Residents in the Hodgin Neighborhood can have items such as paint cans, spray paint, household cleaners, motor oil, insecticide, batteries, used lightbulbs, cleaners and solvents picked up and safely disposed of.
