Revitalize San Pedro Partnership Accepted into New Mexico MainStreet Accelerator Program
_____
The Realize San Pedro Partnership (RSPP), a group of four neighborhoods - Fair West, Mile Hi, Mark Twain and Alvarado Park - and associated local businesses who have worked together to address shared neighborhood concerns and challenges, as well as promote the benefits of these areas, were accepted into the New Mexico MainStreet Accelerator Program. The program, a 12-18 month preservation-based economic development initiative, helps communities build economic development projects while working toward achieving Main Street America affiliation. Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn (D-7) sponsored legislation in 2023 to provide $20,000 in seed money for RSPP to move into the accelerator program. The RSPP is led by a board made up of neighborhood association leaders and local business owners who, over the past two years, led participation in NMMS’s Urban Neighborhood Commercial Corridor Initiative, completed a community engagement process and two-year Action Plan; hosted quarterly Business Connections meetings; and secured priority status for the San Pedro Corridor in the City of Albuquerque's updated integrated development plan. For more information on RSPP, contact Cynthia Serna at: <mailto:serna.cynthia at gmail.com> serna.cynthia at gmail.com
