Hello All,
The ID Park is the place holder name parks and rec is using for the space next to the International District Library where they are developing plans for the construction.
We’ll be listing District 6 projects on our website and the updates should be complete before our State of the District Event on January 11th at 4pm at the ID Library.

https://www.cabq.gov/council/find-your-councilor/district-6/events
In terms of the public restrooms, I agree 100% that porta-potties aren’t appropriate. I am interested in the self cleaning toilets and piloting San Francisco’s Pit Stop Program.

The toilets mentioned in this email thread are a bit different and I’m currently learning about them and researching to see if they are even allowed in the City or would it require legislation. See attached from Tawyna Mullen, President of the South San Pedro NA who is proposing these for the alley projects we are working on.
Hope that helps,
Councilor Nichole Rogers

I assumed ID meant International District.
I used to work for Parks and Recreation - Public toilets were a huge nuisance. They turned into places to do drugs and even rapes were common in them. It didnt help any of the communities they were in. Clean up was more of a mess with them.
Just giving my experience with them

Councilor Rodgers,
May I ask where the ID Park is being moved to and will we be left with the scar imposed upon the International District by AMAFCA and CABQ at Central and Grove?

Hi Charlie,
Great news the ID Park is moving!!! Here is a link to see the plans and put in more feedback as I know you all were instrumental in getting this started.
You are absolutely right, $1.5 million is a drop in the bucket compared to the City Capital budget of $175 million. Wouldn’t it be great if Mayor would pledge some of that to this process!!!
Either way the plan is to take the projects to the legislature to get more capital dollars for PB so we can do more.
With gratitude,
Councilor Nichole Rogers

Gary,
Sadly, $1.5 million will not go very far to accomplish any one of the great needs in District 6. I'm still waiting for the CABQ Parks Dept. to mitigate the scar left by the naked retention pond adjacent to the International District Library. $1.5 million may pay to accomplish half that, providing construction costs don't increase. It's just so regretful. Perhaps the City might replace a few dead trees in the District.
Yours in community,
Charlie Bennett
