[Neighbors] NHNA Special Board Meeting, October 8th

Neighbors,
The NHNA will hold a special Board Meeting on October 8th, 6:30pm, at Monte
Vista Christian Church.

The sole agenda item is a request for a variance at 430 Richmond Pl NE. The
case will be heard by the Zoning Hearing Examiner (ZHE
<https://www.cabq.gov/planning/boards-commissions/zoning-hearing-examiner/zhe-agendas-action-sheets-decisions>)
on October 15th. The request is, “Variance to 5′ side yard setback for a
250 sqft addition to existing single family house requested due to site
topography, neighborhood drainage and existing building encroachment.”

In the past, the NHNA Urban Planning committee has hosted these meetings
with the applicant and presented a recommendation at the regular monthly
meeting of the Board. However, recent changes to the IDO (the city zoning
code) have reduced the notification requirements for ZHE requests until a
couple weeks before the ZHE hearing, so there is no time for a separate
committee meeting. We are still working through how we will handle ZHE
requests going forward.
