Thanks for that encouraging post,Jean. I agree that filling store fronts with just anything is not the answer either. Nob Hill has the potential for once again becoming an awesome place with the right planning. I see other parts of the city being revitalized with store fronts. Just read in this morning's paper that Carhartt is opening a store at ABQ Uptown where there is a mixture of different businesses to attract more people. See article below.
Robert, in part answer to your question, I see a disconnect between what residents want economically for Nob Hill as opposed to what is being established as strictly an "entertainment" zone which isn't working. No mixed use? Safety is a huge concern as it is all over Albuquerque, particularly between San Mateo and Eubank. Those same elements are creeping into Nob Hill and scaring customers away. Our new commander is doing everything he can to handle the situations but they can only do so much. I do believe that without the new University Command station, Nob Hill would have already been an extension of the war zone. I have followed the trend and I've seen what has happened between San Mateo and Eubank for the past 50 years.
Time to gear up your Neighborhood Watch Group.
I do hope Nob Hill can get it together so we can all live safely and happily.

Neighbors, going forward, please try collectively to resist “filling empty storefronts” with operators (like the Library) who are of lower standards. The district has made some great gains lately, despite these businesses leaving. With some hard judgment and patience, we can continue our long overdue improvement. Jean

Soon even the bars will all be gone. Slice Parlor is done as well. Already closed._______________________________________________
