Hello Neighbors,

As you contemplate fall yard and garden clean-up, please consider LEAVING THE LEAVES! They are important winter habitat for pollinators. Green waste pick-up is great for excess leaves, branches, etc., but please also leave some leaves, seed heads, stems, and brush for our invertebrate neighbors.

Leaves are habitat, not trash
“One of the most valuable things you can do to support pollinators and other invertebrates is to provide them with the shelter they need to survive the winter. Thankfully, that’s pretty easy; all you need to do is do less yard work.” Five easy ways to protect wildlife this fall

I Didn't Know That!: Leave the Leaves
"Pollinators are key to healthy ecosystems, including the ones you visit in national parks. They help plants flower, seed, and provide food for other animals (even us!). By leaving the leaves, you’re helping protect the next generation of pollinators that parks (and your own backyard) depend on."

> 🍁 Curbside Green Waste Collection is coming up soon! ♻️
>
> Mark your calendars, from December 1–12, City of Albuquerque residents will have two opportunities to set out their green waste for curbside pickup. Now’s the time to get out in your yard, rake up those leaves, and gather your grass clippings, weeds, and branches.
> 🌿 ✅ You’ll have two collection chances during the first two weeks of December. ⚠️ Be sure to follow the green waste guidelines below so your materials can be collected — and remember, green waste should never go in your recycling cart!
