[Neighbors] Application for Liquor License, Restaurant Type B, as an ancillary use to a Restaurant operation at 3105-3109 Central Ave NE.

Mr. Liquor Hearing Officer,

Community input on this request was positive. One community member indicated concern about the number of calls for police service at the Montgomery address where Fiesta Azul has a restaurant. The vast majority of those calls appear to focus on the bar in a suite at the end of the building and not to the applicant's restaurant or are periodic watch or traffic stops.

Consistent with our policy, our board of directors voted 5-0 not to express a position which, in our experience, has resulted in approval by the Liquor Hearing Officer.
We wish Fiesta Azul success.

We note that we received mailed notice on July 1 and the deadline for written statements was July 6 at 9 am. This is a short timeframe that hinders our ability to employ an orderly and democratic process for making a representative decision. We hope we can get more notice going forward.
