Dear Neighbor,
The Air Force and the New Mexico Environment Department will be co-hosting a public meeting for the Kirtland Air Force Base Bulk Fuels Facility (BFF) leak project on Tuesday November 14, 2017, at the African American Performing Arts Center. The Center is located at 310 San Pedro NE, near the intersection of San Pedro Dr. NE and Copper Ave.
Beginning at 5:00 p.m. interested community members are invited to participate in a technical "Deep Dive" discussion, where risk assessment experts will present the BFF risk assessment, followed by a question and answer period. To attend, please register here: https://www.portageinc.com/apps/kafb , so staff may plan for adequate resources and materials to support the community dialogue. Registration is open until November 8, 2017.
Community members not attending the technical "Deep Dive" may also converse with Air Force and NMED technical experts at a brief 5:30-6 p.m. poster session.
The main meeting presentation runs from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and includes a project status update, and overview of the NMED 2018 Strategic Plan, followed by a question and answer period.
