Read to Me Program Seeking Book Donations

The Albuquerque Read to Me Program is hosting its annual book drive and is asking for book donations through the end of March. This community-focused initiative collects new and gently used books for all ages, and distributes them to child development centers and programs throughout the city. Many younger children and even adults have learned to read as a result of this program, so if you’ve been wanting to spring-clean those bookshelves and donate, contact Dave Orner at dorner66@gmail.com.

 

Eastside Animal Shelter Offering Free Spay and Neuter to 100 Cats This Week

The Animal Welfare Department’s Eastside Shelter is offering free spay and neuter services to the first 100 cats whose Albuquerque owners make a reservation this week! Each owner is allowed to spay or neuter up to two cats each, on Tuesday, Feb. 27 and Wednesday, Feb. 28, and reservations MUST be made in person at 8920 Lomas NE. Veteran’s Outreach Events Share Property Tax Information, Benefits and Other Services
