Have “Coffee with a Cop” on Wednesday in TWO Great Locations and Meet Your Officers

The Albuquerque Police Department’s (APD) invites area residents to join them for two “Coffee with a Cop” events on Wednesday, April 25.

Senior Citizen Fraud Watch Seminar at Sandia Casino

The American Association of Retired People (AARP) is offering a free Fraud Watch Prevention seminar geared toward senior citizens, on Thursday, April 26, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, at the Sandia Casino Conference Center. To RSVP, call 877-926-8300.

 

Block Captain Conference Encourages Participation in Community Policing

The annual Block Captain Conference takes place Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the Albuquerque Police Department Training Academy, 5412 2nd St. NW. If you’re a current Block Captain or are interested in becoming one, this event is for you. Sessions on community-oriented policing, engaging with neighborhood associations, tackling neighborhood challenges, and success stories, will be part of the agenda. South Valley Art Exhibit Showcases Community Artists

The South Valley MainStreet Group is working with Bernalillo County this weekend to host the “I Love the South Valley Because……” community art exhibit on Friday, April 27, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at the Del Rio Physical Therapy and Rehab Center, 1010 Bridge Blvd. SW. National “Drug Take Back” Event at Civic Plaza Encourages Dropping Off Unused Prescription Drugs

The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General is hosting a “Drug Take Back” Initiative on Saturday, April 28 at Civic Plaza, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Any type of opioid, sleep medication, or Benzodiazepines can be dropped off that day, to help keep them out of the wrong hands and prevent dangerous addictions.
