Green Waste Collection Starts Today!

Do you have leaves, brush, or other green waste that needs to be picked up? The Solid Waste Management Department’s Fall Green Waste Collection begins today, Monday, Dec. 3 through Friday, Dec. 14. Solid Waste Customers should have their green waste at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on their regular trash and recycling collection day. Restrictions apply. http://www.cabq.gov/solidwaste/green-waste

 

Quarterly Community Policing Council Summit Invites Public Attendance and Feedback

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) is hosting a Community Policing Council (CPC) Summit this Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2:00 p.m., at the Albuquerque Convention Center, and you’re invited! The Summit will feature topics The summit will feature the Annual Report, future meeting formatting, a review of proper guidelines for submitting CPC recommendations, information on social media usage (reference survey sent to CPC chairs on 11/19/18), and our next steps for CPCs. Circling Hands Qigong at Open Space Center This Weekend

This Sunday, December 9, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Open Space Center, you’re invited to check out Circling Hands qigong, a qigong set where you stand in place doing a circle both with the hands and the body. The movements are designed to move fluids and Qi in the body which can help with the effects of aging and energizes the body. A class fee of $5.00 donation is suggested, with a portion benefitting the Open Space Alliance. Space is limited. Please call 897-8831 to register.
