Congratulations to Albuquerque Basketball Teams!

Congratulations go out to local high schools Atrisco Heritage Academy, Valley, and West Mesa, all of whom won state basketball championships this past weekend! The Atrisco Heritage Jaguars won their second state championship (5A) in a row, making them the first team in 9 years to win two state championships back-to-back; the Valley Vikings won in the 4A bracket, and the West Mesa Mustangs won in the 5A Girls bracket, their first state championship in history. Great job, Jaguars, Vikings and Mustangs!

 

Special City Council Meeting Scheduled Thursday for Public Comment on Police Oversight Ordinance

The City Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, March 21 at 5:00 p.m., in the Vincent E. Griego Council Chambers, Basement, City Hall, to hear public comment on O-18-23, Amending the Police Oversight Ordinance. Councilors would like to hear public comments from all interested stakeholders on the purposed changes. To sign up for public comment specific to this ordinance, come to City Hall at 4:30 p.m. and signing up at the table just outside the Council Chambers. Parking for the underground lot under Civic Plaza will be validated. Public Meeting Hosted by Short-Term Rental Task Force This Tuesday

The public is invited to attend a meeting hosted by the Short-Term Rental Task Force on Tuesday, March 19, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at the Realtor Building, Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors, 1635 University NE. The meeting will provide an opportunity for the Task Force to get input on regulation, registration, and administration of short-term rentals in Albuquerque.
