October 16  Santana Apartments:
Nothing resolved at this meeting. I saw this as a meeting that did not listen to the concerns of the people. This is too large a project for the space. 111 units is too many units for this area. This most likely means 200 plus people. If they only build 60 units then no money is made according to the developer.
This seems like a project the city council will say ok to and not listen to the community once again.
Five stories high does not fit the look of the neighborhood. Two stories with 60 units might fit with the neighborhood.
Also No traffic study yet. Many excellent points were brought up concerning traffic issues and parking. I saw no response that actually addressed these concerns.
I found this developer to be a “non listener”. He rarely made a comment that indicated he would change his plans.
Also The sheets they handed out at the end of the meeting gave no additional information about the project. The papers were SHC housing application forms and rules.
Affordable housing...YES! But not such a large complex on this lot. Smaller apartment complex’s give more of a sense of
community. I am Not against affordable housing but I do not support this project as it stands.
Other people might feel the community was listened to at this meeting but I saw it as business as usual.

Dear Neighbors: I am unable to attend tonight's discussion of the Santana Apartments, however, I have a couple thoughts about it. My understanding is that the Supportive Housing Coalition of NM is helping to resolve the issue of homelessness in our neighborhood. This seems very valuable. Affordable housing seems to be a reasonable approach. Much of my career involved working to end homelessness, including research in cooperation with UNM's Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse and Addictions and Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. I also support the location on Adams and Central, as it appears to be easily accessible by public transportation. I appreciate the facilitated meeting approach, and I wish the very best for our beloved Nob Hill.
Sincerely, Carolina Yahne
