Dear Neighbors: I am unable to attend tonight's discussion of the Santana Apartments, however, I have a couple thoughts about it. My understanding is that the Supportive Housing Coalition of NM is helping to resolve the issue of homelessness in our neighborhood. This seems very valuable. Affordable housing seems to be a reasonable approach. Much of my career involved working to end homelessness, including research in cooperation with UNM's Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse and Addictions and Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. I also support the location on Adams and Central, as it appears to be easily accessible by public transportation. I appreciate the facilitated meeting approach, and I wish the very best for our beloved Nob Hill.

This is a pre-application meeting. I am attaching a fact sheet provided by the project agent for more information.

 

Meeting Date: October 16, 2019

Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Place: Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106

 

The purpose of the meeting is to facilitate discussion between the project team and neighbors about this project, to document known existing concerns, and to negotiate resolution of concerns if possible. A summary report of this meeting will be sent to the City of Albuquerque and to all meeting participants after the meeting. The facilitator and co-facilitator are neutral parties under contract with the City of Albuquerque to provide meeting facilitation services.

 

Please help share the information about this meeting with other neighbors who may be interested.
