Hi,
Mt Taylor got 5 to 12 inches of fresh powder last night. The road is plowed
to the run/ ski transition point for the quad race on the 16th. I would
like to ski the North-Northwest facing slopes of Mt Taylor this Saturday.
The slopes are less than 30 degrees and largely less than 27 degrees angle
(according to hill maps), but a beacon probe and shovel is required. This
will be a class 3 plus, exploratory (I haven't skied their) trip with more
than 2000 ft elevation gain from the parking to the summit. Of note, we
will NOT be skiing the south facing steeper side as it is avalanche
terrain. The organizers for the quad race said the snow is the best they
have ever seen.
Please email me if you are interested.
Cheers,
Stacey
