Rode the tram today. The Service Road has been groomed by Sandia Nordic. Still a bit soft for skating but excellent for classic/ touring.
Snow depth several feet. A few skiers have used switchback and rocky point and they are tracked. Snow in the trees and off trail is really deep. Great touring conditions.
The Ellis parking area has 2-3 feet of unplowed snow. Even if the highway is plowed it could be hard to find parking. Until the government opens, the forest service is not plowing the trailhead parking areas.

Access is either by the tram or by skinning up the downhill ski runs. The downhill area has been groomed and it looks ready to open. I think the road is plowed up to the ski area but cannot be sure.

Get up there and enjoy the superb conditions. We don't often see this!
