[NMCCSC] Skiing in Jemez today

Tom and I skied at Los Griegos today.  This is near mile marker 34 on Hwy 4.  The parking lot had been plowed but we got another 6” or so today.  It started snowing about 9AM and continued until we left at 2PM.  The conditions were very good.  The trail had about a 12” base with an icy crust but the new snow of 6-8” made the skiing very good.
We skied up Ladera to Griegos Junction and then started up the final ascent to the Upper Road but we were breaking trail and ran out of steam.  The conditions are really good but we don’t know how long that will last.   We had temps in the 40’s last week which caused a lot of melting and icing over at night.  I am attaching a couple of pictures and you can see it was great today.  The highway had been plowed but it is still snow packed and icy.  [image1.jpeg] [image2.jpeg]
