All info is heading north on the Survey from the road. The upper section is fairly clear, easily skied around any tree debris. Right after the power lines there is a detour which again is not that difficult around. The biggest obstacles occur just below the opening with the War of the Roses medallion tree. BTW it lost a couple of branches also. Difficult getting around this debris field at least 1/2 dozen trees down with many more around especially uphill. The other problematic section is the relatively "flat" section just before dropping down to the 10K. Again a number of trees, difficult getting around. Only went to the 10K and turned around. Snow was still good while I skied (until Saturday noon) and only saw a couple of skiers, who said they were up for the tree adventure. As should you. That's all I know.David D

#yiv4320277633 P {margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;}A big THANK YOU to all the folks who have done recon this season in the Sandias! We've appreciated the road, trail, and snow reports from Lynn, Bett, Terri (and those whom I've forgotten - sorry). An even bigger thank you to Gordon who was up clearing trails Friday so we could all enjoy the recent snow! We had a great day on Switchback!Cathy and Paul E.

Subject: [NMCCSC] Sandia road conditions—tree warning FYI—the road to the Sandia Crest is in excellent condition however Friday morning, the 15th, there was a tree infringing on the road in the uphill lane that people might like to be aware. It is a bit past Doc Long, a right hand curve, and kind of hidden so you don’t see it well in advance. It probably isn’t a problem unless another car happens to be coming down when you are wanting to swerve to avoid the branches. I suppose there is a chance that it has been removed but if not, be careful out there.
