Hey Beginner XC skiers,

Let's go hiking in the Sandia Mountains at elevation and make sure we are
in shape for XC skiing this winter. Now is a good time to check out some of
the ski trails before they are covered in snow.

*Hike: Sunday, Nov 11, 2019, 10am to 2pm*
*We will begin at the Ellis Trailhead parking lot at 10am. *The plan is to
hike the Rocky Point trail south (Class 1+ ski), check out the new Tram
restaurant and return on the Gravel pit trail (Class 2 ski). At the end we
will do a small loop to check out the beginning of the Switchback trail
(Class 1+ ski).

Total hike will be 2.5 to 3 miles with about 100 ft elevation change. Bring
snacks or a lunch, water and dress in layers for the weather.
