[NMCCSC] Beacon Practice

Hello skiers!
I am organizing a beacon training for this ski season. This will be a practice session for those with experience or interest in backcountry skiing. This will not be an avalanche class. I highly recommend anyone interested in backcountry skiing to take an avalanche course. 
Knowing how to operate your beacon is essential for yourself and those you are skiing with when traveling in the backcountry.

The practice session will take place either the weekend of 12/7/19 or 12/14/19.  When you sign up via the link, select which days work best for you. 
The session will take about 3 hours from 9am-noon. Location to be determined, probably somewhere in the Sandias. Hopefully there will be snow, but you can practice beacon and burial scenarios even in the summer. 
If neither of the these dates work for you, I will likely hold another training in the first 2 weeks of January.
We will review the following:
1.    Equipment-beacon, probes, shovels

2.    Beacon checks at the trailhead

3.    Practice with beacon for a single burial scenario
