[NMCCSC] NM 165 Sandias

Hi all,
James and I skied forest road NM 165 from Balsam Glade parking area.  It was a cold snow day (14 F at the start) and with some fresh snow, 165 was doable.  We skied to Las Huertas picnic area (4-miles one-way) and then made the long, 4-mile slog back to the car.  Mostly we skied in packed snow truck tire tracks.  There were some places where we had some scratching and ski hang-ups due to hidden rocks and gravel.  Most of the road though was okay for an XC day.  This was my first outing on NM 165 for the season.  Seems it is only skiable if there is enough snow pack on the road, there is a very fresh coating of a few inches of snow, and it is cold.
