On Sunday I did a half day with rental Tele gear and my son was on his snowboard. Snow conditions were great but the weather was extremely unpredictable. The lifts did not start running until 10 due to lightening at the crest. We had a a windy day with rain, pelting sleet, and snow. Fog and snow diminished visibility at the top and the constant wind gusts made for an uncomfortable 20 minute lift ride.
The Tele turns have gotten easier although I still have trouble on one side verses the other. I am finding that on easy morals the Tele technique feels much easier than parallel turns. We are eventually going to be in the market for Tele Kit, but I am finding it difficult to find a ski length that will fit me. My rentals are 155cm and although I can handle them, they feel much longer than my alpine 148cm. Can anyone tell me if Tele skis should be the same length as one would get for traditional downhill?
Ski on!
Amy
