Greetings skiers.
Want to get out in some snow deep enough not to ruin your skis?  I am planning on doing a day trip up to Enchanted Forest just outside of Red River this coming Wednesday, January 20.  For those of you who have not been there before, it is a 3.5 hour drive...one-way.  Enchanted Forest has over 30k of trails groomed for classic and skate and is 100% open.  Due to COVID things are different this year.  You MUST book your trail pass on their website and there is no longer an option to sit in their little lodge for your lunch or a warm up.  You have to use your car for that.
This will be an informal group event where we will be traveling in separate cars, wearing masks, socially distancing, and once folks arrive you may ski as you wish.  I just though if anyone wants to go up there and doesn't want to be alone on the trails, this might be a good opportunity.  During the week it is not crowded so we would have less people to contend with on trails.  This trip is not for those who have never skied before.  If you haven't it is advised to wait for another time and take a lesson.
The trails are open 9-4 everyday.  I plan on leaving around the un-godly hour of 6:30am.  That should put us up there around 10 or so.  Folks can leave for the drive home when they wish.
Please let me know if you are interested so that I can put your name on the list for our club waiver form.
How to book your day pass:
Go to the Enchanted Forest XC website listed below.  Select "Book Your Activity Now" the red button in the upper right of the site.  This will bring you to several options.  Choose "Daily Trail Use (required)".  This will bring up a calender.  Select January 20 "9am Daily Trail Use" option.  You will then be able to select the number of adult trail passes that you are purchasing.  They are $22 per person for a 1-day pass.  The instructions will then lead your through your payment options.  I don't know if you can just show up and purchase a trail pass there, but I got the impression you must order and reserve on their website.  You can also rent skis if you wish.  (Skate and Classic).  You can even reserve a lesson if you want that.
