[NMCCSC] Wed Survey Trail, Level2, Don't Miss!

Because I’m quite a novice skier we went out to Oak Flat yesterday and skied up Mahogany and back down Gamble Oak. Trails had lots of bare patches and visible rocks but it was still fun. Another skier commented he’d never seen it so good. I think by today conditions would be quite deteriorated. Lots of people were out there.

Suggestions for beginners and new club members are most welcome!

I skied Oak Flats today and it was wonderful!  Got there at 2pm.  Broke some trail on the Mahogany trail, ran into some tracks on the Ponderosa trail and the snow and weather was awesome!  Was able to kick and glide, didn't need any Maxiglide and no rocks.  No icy spots but can see them coming.  The snow wasn't sticky.  Great trails for Level 1, very flat with small gradual hills.

I didn't see a soul the whole time!

Terri and I skied my fave trail, Survey, this afternoon.  We went as far as Osha Loop Jx, nice that the last deep section had been broken by DaveG earlier!  OMGosh, the snow is perfect!  Trail's in great shape, usual large rocks, usual climb out.  As long as it stays cold, and before its 'other'-tracked, please don't wait to enjoy it!

Oh, btw, we saw deer tracks and large cat tracks running through the powder following it.  Wow.  Bet Gendron
