Hey Doug,Yay! I’m really glad you’re doing this!
I booked a trip for a group of friends but some of them race, so due to race schedules we aren’t going until March when conditions probably will be very springlike. I would like to have a club trip in Jan. or Feb. I think I would prefer Feb. because I’m planning to participate in the Chama Chile (MLK weekend). And it’s hard for me to do back to back trips/weekends away from home. I’m also really short on vacation, I’ve been using my leave as fast as it accrues. But all these issues aside I’ll try to make whatever you come up with. If we have choices maybe you could do a poll like Doodle and see who could go when. And yes I’d be willing to pay extra if we don’t get 16. I don’t like being crowded at the huts and would think basing the cost on 12 would be a nice number. Dana505-417-9787

Subject: [NMCCSC] Hut Trip 2022 Greetings skiers! Guy Miller and I are considering booking a hut trip for the 2022 season. There are several huts-Harry Gates, McNamara, and Margies with availability for January and February at the time of this writing. They all have capacity for 16 skiers. This would be a 3 night trip.
At this point we are reaching out to see what the interest is for a hut trip planned in Covid times. There are several factors to consider.
First, all participants must be Covid 19 vaccinated. Second, due to the unpredictability of planning anything in Covid times, all participants must be able to accept the trip could be cancelled if Covid protocols change and dictate a hut trip could be unsafe.
In the event of a cancelled trip, it is unlikely the 10thMountain Hut System will refund our money and the NMCCSC would not be able to do this either. So, unlike last season there would be no refund on your money in the event the trip is cancelled.
Finally, can we get 16 people on board for this? If not, would the people going be willing to pay more for the hut if 16 people don’t go?
So, what is the interest out there for committing to a hut trip this year?
Out of concern for hut availability diminishing as time passes, we’d like to know as soon as possible who is interested. I’ll be following up this email in a few days with a quick google survey to gauge interest.
I'll follow up this email in a few days with a google type survey to gauge interest. Feel free to email me or call me at 505-717-5636 with any questions.
Hope we can ski together soon!!
