Many of you were really interested in the idea of skiing in Vermont
this coming year, and almost everyone voted for the Trapp Family Lodge over
the Craftsbury facility. However, I also got a lot of comments from people
who had lived and/or skied in Vermont in the past and they expressed some
concerns about the "Vermont Thaw", a concept that seemed unimageable to me,
that traditionally happens around the end of January when it rains for
several days and then freezes. However, as several people pointed out and
research confirms, February is normally a better month for skiing since
February is the snowiest month in Stowe Vermont with much better weather for
good consistent skiing. Consequently, I have been in touch with the group
sales agent at the Trapp Family Lodge and we can get the same group rate for
the week of February 28th thru March 4th of 2022 that we had for January 17
to the 21st.
Again, the estimated costs for per person for 5 days and 4 nights,
from February 28th to March 4th would be as follows:
Airfare Albuquerque to Burlington, VT,........................$545.00
Lodging, at $153.25 / night including lodge and trail fee and
taxes.......$613.00
Food at $75.00/day for 3 days and a dinner on the 28th and breakfast
on the 4th ..........................................$270.00
Shuttle to and from Burlington airport........................$100.00
Estimated total.......................................$1528.00
The Trapp Family Lodge, which is still run by the Trapp family, is 4.1
miles from Stowe one of the best downhill areas in Vermont with restaurants
and stores, but I am not yet sure of transportation from the Lodge to Stowe.
If you are interested in a ski trip to Vermont on these new dates,
staying at the Trapp Family Lodge, please get back to me ASAP. You are not
committed at this point, I am just trying to gauge interest, but your prompt
consideration of this trip would be appreciated.
Max
