Snow conditions in the Sandias. 2-19-22. Saturday.
I-40 & North 14: clear and dry
Crest Road: dry except for the usual switchbacks in the shade which were snow packed.
Parking: lots plowed. Upper Ellis full by 10AM with then limited parking at 10K south.

Snow: 10K South, 8:30AM—uphill from the parking area was icy, off camber, lots of foot/dog traffic and rutted. By 10:30AM-Sandia Nordic had run their groomer and conditions were much improved.
Snow: service road: somewhat icy before mid-morning but softening up. Classic track was in good shape given the abundance of foot traffic and dogs. There was an unleashed dog on the service road whose owner would not call off their dog even when I politely asked, so be aware.
Snow: Rocky point: good coverage but still managed to find a big rock.

Overall conditions: If you arrive early for easy parking access be prepared for hard pack/icy conditions. If you arrive at 10AM for better snow conditions, then prepare for limited parking.
Happy skiing.
