A yurt is a Mongolian dwelling dating back to thetimes of Marco Polo.
It is round with a lattice-work wall, tension cable,compression ring, and conical roof.

The details:
Spruce Hole Yurt
When: Sunday, 1/28 until Tuesday 1/30
Cost: $80 per person for the yurt rental
The yurt is nestled at 10,600 feet is less than 2 ½ milesfrom the highway and with only 400 ft of elevation gain making it a perfect“first time” yurt adventure for those who are now comfortable on skis and wantto expand their horizons. There is a queen, double and two single bunk bedsavailable and the added luxury of solar powered lights, USB plug ins and atelescope for nighttime viewing.
Trujillo Meadow Yurt
Friday 3/1 until Sunday 3/3
Cost: $85 per person for the yurt rental
This yurt combines a gentle 400 ft gain over 4 miles along aforest service road. There are two sets of bunk double beds and nighttimelighting is with propane lanterns. Both yurts come with a 3-burner propanestove, kitchen utilities, a wood burning stove for heat and melting snow forour drinking water, a full set of games and an outhouse for that essentialfunction. There will be a varied terrain with lots of opportunities for allskiing abilities.
Requirements:
You must be able to carry a sleeping bag, extra clothes,sheets for the bed, food for two days and other miscellaneous ski gear in abackpack or a pulk sled the distance to and from the yurt. You must be willingto share a small space with three other adventurers, sharing group breakfastand dinners and pitching in with the various chores. You must be willing todeal with anything nature will throw at us from clear bluebird days withperfect powder, to icy crust, windy or whiteout conditions. Most importantly,you must be willing to have fun!
Registrations opens on Sunday, December 17th atnoon. With only three slots available (one is reserved for the trip leader)spots will go fast. So come join the fun!
