[NMCCSC] Last Call For Broome Hut Trip

Greetings Skiers!! 
This a last call for this year's hut trip to Broome Hut. Registration will close this Friday 12/22/2023. This will allow time for planning the logistics of trip such as meals and car pooling. Details are below. Contact Hut Guru  Guy Miller or Doug Erb if you are interested because we have to allow you to register. 
This year's 10th Mountain Hut Trip will be to Broome Hut located adjacent to Winter Park Ski Area in Colorado. 
The hut is at 11,350' elevation, sleeps 16 people and has 2 indoor composting toilets.

The group will car pool on Sunday 1/7/2024 to The Georgetown Lodge, in Georgetown, CO. On Monday morning 1/8, the group will car pool 35 minutes to the trail head. The group will be at the hut for the nights of 1/8, 1/9, and 1/10 and leave the hut on Thursday 1/11/2024. If the weather permits, the group will head back to Albuquerque. It is recommended to reserve Friday 1/12 as a possible travel day if the weather is foul and the group is not able to return to New Mexico on Thursday after the ski out. 
 The ski in is one mile to the hut with an elevation gain of 800'. While this is on the very short end of most of the hut trips, strong back country ski skills with a full pack are required. The hut is located in terrain prone to avalanche danger and a beacon/transceiver, shovel, probe and the knowledge how to use them are required. This trip is for experienced skiers.

Cost for the Hut and 3 dinners is $227 per person. There will also be an additional cost for lodging on 1/7 and gas/vehicle wear and tear.
