Wendy and I are trying to go up now and the road is closed. There is a sign lower down right after the turn off, saying that the Sandia crest Road is closed and the sheriffs department is out there stopping people. We don’t have any information on how long it will be closed .
We are going to pull over here and try to ski up a little bit around La Cienega hopefully Hopefully.
There are at least five or 6 inches of snow right here, but skies are clearing a little and road is slushy.

The details by that symbol say that driving is difficult and crews are out on NM 14 and others. With that, I reason that the crews aren’t likely out along unmarked minor roads in the region. Because higher elevation roads will likely be worse while major lower-elevation roads, the Crest Road likely got hit worse than 14 (which is bad).
