Driving up to the crest this morning was quite an experience as I was driving in white out conditions a good bit of the time. The road is very snow packed above Capulin and particularly above the 9 mile picnic area. The Ellis trail network was great for skiing today with 1 to 2 inches of new snow. It was about 25 degrees at 9:30 when I got there and 22 when I left at 12:30. The wind was pretty strong when I started out and then it became a nonissue except in a few places near the crest. I only saw one person the entire morning. The parking lots at 10k and Ellis were not a problem getting in and out of.
