Overall. Go xc it!
New snow 1-3 inches. Fun! But, not perfect. Very wind swept in places. Icy sometime chunky hardpack beneath. Some places pure magic fluff.
Air temp was about 22-F.

Northern edge Kiwanis had a super fun new snow about 3-inches deep that hadn’t gotten windswept, yet.

Road to Ellis:
Good. Hard pack snow blown and patchy ice. Starting to melt in sun exposed tarmac.

Ellis and 10k parking:
About 1/2 to one inch wind blown snow atop previously plowed pack and ice.

Trail head Ellis up switchbacks to Kiwanis meadow:
Fresh 1/2 to 2 inch snow atop bumpy lumpy consolidated hardpack through prior weeks snowshoe and xc little trail “canyons”. Thd fresh snow depth is variable, and we had good kick and glide, but we needed to be cautious of metal edges grabbing and riding up the icy/hardpack trail “walls” about 2 to 10 inches tall that define the trail.
