[NMCCSC] Picnic Update

Picnic Update,

Recreation.gov initially stated that reservations for Oak Flats could not be
made until March 1, 2025.  This was a change from prior years when
reservations could be made anytime.   However, on March 1st the website
posted a new date when reservation would be available.  The new date was May
1st, , However, on April 21st I checked back again and found that a new date
had been posted and reservations could be made beginning on April 23rd .  On
April 23rd I dutifully  swooped in and l got us the reservation for
September 21st.  But that is not the end of the story. On April 25th I got
an email notifying me that the reservation for the 21st had been cancelled
and our fee refunded on the grounds that while  yes, the website did let me
make a reservation, that was a mistake and no reservations could really be
made before May 1st. So that is where we currently stand. As of today, we DO
NOT have a reservation in Oak Flats.  On May 1st I will again go to
Reservation.gov and see if we can reserve the site.
