[NMCCSC] FYI- Sandia Ranger Dist, FS, Seeking Comments

Skiers and Hikers-  Sandia Ranger District has some plans for change and is
seeking public input.  Please read the letter below.

*Subject: Comments Sought for Sandia RD Recreation Improvement Decommission
and Demolition Project*

The Forest Service proposes the decommissioning and demolition of several
structures and amenities across the Sandia Ranger District, including vault
toilet facilities (4), recreation residences (2), and a mixed-use building
(i.e., Sandia Crest House) located on the Sandia Ranger District. This
action is needed to address health and safety concerns, agency special use
permit requirements, scenic integrity objectives – and to improve the
overall recreation experience for visitors.

The scoping letter and maps can be found on the project website at
https://www.fs.usda.gov/r03/cibola/projects/68470. A print copy of the
proposal will be available to view during regular business hours
(8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday) at the front desk of the Sandia Ranger

*Please submit comments no later than September 8, 2025.* Electric Comments
