As I am sitting in the warm glow of the wood burning stove looking out at the low gray clouds and waiting for the snow to begin here is Cedar Crest, my mind naturally wanders to skiing. So let's review the the status of our long trips. Both Crested Butte and Spruce Hole yurt trips are full. But if you are still interested in either (or both) then please sign in to our website, go to the calendar and find the trip and put yourself on the waitlist - ski.nmccskiclub.org/list-of-events/#!event-list . Many times there will be cancellations for the trip and to fill the spot we offer it to the next person on the waitlist. Also, if you are thinking of staying at another accommodation in Crested Butte and joining us for our ski and after ski party, oops I mean meeting, then please register for the trip as "Staying elsewhere." This way you will be included in all of the upcoming organizational communications. Our trip to the Grouse Creek yurt is still looking for a couple of strong, fun loving skiers. The trip is coming up fast, MLK weekend, Saturday, January 18-20 and currently the Chama snotel site at the pass is showing 26" of snow with 6" falling a little over a week ago. It has stayed cold, so the snow is likely to have stayed good. Additionally the NWS is calling for 2-4" today and more possible Thursday, Saturday and Monday. Here's the snotel site: wcc.sc.egov.usda.gov/nwcc/site?sitenum=431 and the NWS 7 day forecast for the yurt: forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-106.44836336371421&lat=37.08129091100449. So come join the fun!As always, if you have questions, email me: lbghose at aol.comDavid D'Antonio
