Greetings- I would like to propose to Club members that there are other alternatives for skiing when the East Mountains get an incredibly big dump like they have now.
I hear that the Crest road has been plowed, but travel up there can be hazardous due to the weekend public wanting to get out to enjoy the snow without having the right driving skill/vehicles.
Without driving high on the mtn, check out the Open Space possibilities- Bernalillo County Open space and City of Albuquerque Open Space- all Googleable, maps downloadable. For instance- Gutierrez, San Antonio, etc. See other areas along residential roads, like Sandia Ranger District Forest Service- Mars Court and lower David Canyon.
These areas are beautiful and would be great in big amounts of snow like we have now, which won't last long! Enjoy and be safe! Bet Gendron
