I just got home, just drove south 14 from Albuquerque. It's 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13.
All of South 14 close to I-40 is wet and slushy, soon to be frozen, and the further up the hill and south you go, the more snow-packed and icy. Most of 14 is snow packed between I-40 and Oak Flat Rd. We got maybe 4-5 inches of new snow near Oak Flat today. Since we got rain and sleet then snow in the last couple of days, the deep snowpack is shrunk and crusted beneath that new snow. But the new snow is enough and lovely to make good skiing if you get out here before the sun and warmth melts it. The high tomorrow is forecast to be 38° with mostly cloudy skies. So it should be good tomorrow morning. Susan Russo, your Tijeras reporter
