I skied from the Ellis trail network in the early to late afternoon and the conditions had not improved. Apparently, that area got more rain than snow last night._______________________________________________The trails in the trees were quite icy and I gave up on them after meeting another couple coming out who reported that the whole network was icy. The groomed trail by the road had softened up and was skiable. I found the downhill sections quite breathtaking and not likely everybody’s cup of tea.On the bright side. The snow base is still thick and all it should take is a good snow to make the trails right. Hopefully the snows predicted for early next week will give us that.Michael J.I agree! Ellis Trail Network too compacted; a lot is icy and crusty. Softened up more late morning but we had already switched to snowshoes. I'd wait for more snow as predicted.FYI: Theres a large tree down across Upper Switchback trail, a short ways past the Buried Cable Junction.Holly will be sending a picture of it to Sam Beard.TerriOn Fri, Feb 15, 2019, 9:20 AM russells via NMCCSCeGroup <nmccscegroup@mailman.swcp.com wrote:_______________________________________________spring conditions. currently ice/ snow surface. wait for it to melt, might be nice. 29 degrees. snow plow active. thick base.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
