For those interested, Quemazon is the name of a remote Snowtel (water resource tracking) site. They are usually named for a nearby natural feature (Quemazon Canyon in this case).

BTW - Snowtel shows 90" at Cumbres Pass (above Chama). What an improvement over last year!

The Quemazon Snowtel site (also in the general area) shows an increase of 10" from Friday to today (25" ==> 35").

There was about 3” new snow on top of ice.  If it continued snowing throughout the night it would be better.  I’m told it actually rained up there last week, hence the ice.
