Red River was the happening place to be last week-end. 33 people from the club gathered to attend the "Just Desserts Event" at Enchanted Forest Nordic Center. Turns out the best dessert was blue skies and 18 Inches of new powder on the trails. The skiers just learning to ski this year were WILD. Freedom to go where they wanted, hills that were chosen for the pure fun of gliding and the warming yurt  a mile into the backcountry was an experience to check out. The more experienced skiers were off to check out the higher elevation trails and views from the top.

Our group experienced all the trails that Enchanted forest offered; skiing, snowshoeing and skiing with your dog. Our group took over the trails. Most people you passed were from our group. So it was smiles and camaraderie.

The day ended with a wonderful social hour and a spread of food that could feed an army. We have such good cooks in our club.

On Sunday under blue skies a some people headed back to Enchanted Forest. Another group of adventurous skiers headed to the Carson National Forest to ski the West Fork trail outside of Red River.

Thank you to all who attended to the Red River overnight ski trip for making it such a fun week-end. A appreciated everyone willing to carpool, accept roommates and willing to help each other dig out cars to get to Enchanted Forest to ski.

I hope we keep seeing each other on the trails.
