Steve and I had a short pleasant ski on part of the Klaus Trail this morning. I want to report that, yes, in general the snow has a lot of sun on it- icy in the morning, soft in the aft. But there is a huge amount of our white stuff up on the mountain, lots of potential for more fun, and of course in the trees things can be nice.
I want to send strong kudos out to Jeff Huser and Scott Dietrich of the Sandia Nordic Ski Club. They groomed their trails today early- corduroy, tracks, etc. That snow is excellent right now and they anticipate it will be good for the weekend. I want to thank them for their efforts to extend our season and make great skiing for all. Go, enjoy, esp on your skinny skis(I've got to get some!).
Large group of snowshoers came in big vans today- they were very polite, made their own tracks down thru the meadow, and apparently had a lot of fun! Bet Gendron
