Dear Members and Friends of Sandia Nordic,

I am sending this message is to inform you about an additional public scoping meeting on the Sandia Trails Improvement Project (STIP) that USFS is holding on Thursday, August 8th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center, 501 Elizabeth Street SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123.  As you know, Sandia Nordic Ski Club's groomed trails improvement project is a component of STIP.  The purpose of the meeting is for Kerry Wood, the Trails and Wilderness Program Manager for the Sandia Ranger District, to provide an overview of the 5 components of STIP and also for the public to ask questions and provide input regarding their support or opposition to the various components.  Access to the 5 maps that Kerry will review at the meeting may be found here.  The Sandia Nordic groomed trails improvement project is the map file labeled "SANDIATRAILIMPROVEMENTSMAP4OF5".  

While I do not anticipate a large number of people will attend the meeting to oppose the groomed trails improvement project, it is important that we have a strong attendance at the meeting to support our trails.
