CRESTED  BUTTE  BUS  TRIP !!!  January 10-13, 2020  Cost:  $330

Hello, Skiers !  It’s less than two months until our bus trip to Crested Butte, and the deadline for signing up is fast approaching.  Crested Butte snow has never disappointed us, and this year is shaping up to be another terrific one in Central Colorado.

Bus trips are by far the most popular events for our Club, and with good reason.  Beer, wine, and soft drinks are provided along with snacks to make the trip enjoyable.  Combined with friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere, the ride itself is a fun getaway.

During our stay, our bus will take us to a variety of trailheads, and there will be trip leaders for Class I, II, and III day trips.  Beginner and novice skiers will find plenty of opportunities  for their skill level, including the stellar Crested Butte Nordic , which is within walking distance of our motel.  Rentals and lessons are available there.  Check it out:  https://cbnordic.org/   Our snowshoeing friends will not be disappointed, either.

There is a free shuttle just a block away from where we’re staying which can take you to the Nordic Center, as well as up to the ski mountain for those who want to do Alpine or Tele skiing on groomed slopes  (note:  outstanding Telemark lessons are available here).

We’ll be staying at our old favorite, The Old Town Inn , which has an indoor sauna as well as a covered, outdoor hot tub.  Oh, and did I mention the free breakfast?
There is a terrific variety of really good food downtown.  You can walk there in about 10 minutes or take the shuttle.  World class craft beer, as well as wine and spirits?  Check.  You’ll find it there.

For those who want to plan ahead, look for Trails Illustrated maps # 131 (Crested Butte / Pearl Pass) and 133 (Kebler / Paonia Reservoir).  We think you’ll agree there are more options than one could need on a 3 day trip.  Also, lift tickets for Crested Butte Ski Resort can be purchased at a discount on line.  Check it out:  https://www.skicb.com/

Today would be an excellent day to get moving on this.

See you on the bus !!!
