Hello Skiers,

On Saturday, December 21, fourteen Ski Club members skied Coyote Call Trail on the Valles Caldera National Preserve in the Jemez Mountains. This area is located across the highway (NM-4) from Valle Grande.

From the trailhead the route goes to the east parallel to the highway and then climbs about 400 feet moderately steeply to the Scooter Peak-Rabbit Ridge saddle where the skiers had lunch. The trail continues to the west with little slope for about a mile and then descends through meadows and scattered trees to the trailhead.

The weather was sunny and mild, and the undisturbed snow depth was about 16 inches.

The members on the tour were Byron Garner, Chris Cockrum, Penina Ballen, Marlene Brown, Nan Burke, Michael Arndt, Bronwyn Willis, Phyllis Pryor, Tony Hsu, Jeff Hsu, Hanna Mesraty, Gabi Fries Griggs, Sybil Keyser, and Sam Beard.

Photos of the outing are presented in the attached Word document.
