With Santa Fe Ski Basin having ended their season early, I
thought to take advantage of the empty slopes. Climb up the wide
open Easy Street trail from the base then ski down practicing
turns on a gentle slope. I will be happy to offer guidance to
those cross-country skiers looking for some pointers. After an
hour or so have a picnic lunch on the deck of Totemoff's, then ski
some more.
The weather looks good for Spring skiing conditions.
Waxless cross-country skis with a climbing pattern should be OK to
climb the gentle slope, though climbing skins (full or kicker
length) would make it easier.
With virus concerns we can still have fun, keep our "social
distancing" and get some outdoor exercise.
No carpooling, just meet on the snow.
