What’s New At The WHEELS Museum:
The Wheels Museum, Inc. made enormous progress in 2019. We are now open Monday through Thursday from 9am – 12pm, and by appointment.
We have many exciting new exhibits of rare automobiles, antique buggies and wagons, an operational train ride, vintage cast iron toys, model trains of all gauges, rare railroad artifacts, and more.
We would love to have you stop in and visit with us soon at 1100 2nd Street SW, Albuquerque, NM. Phone (505) 243-6269
More Exciting News in the What’s New Department:
The most exciting recent acquisition is the donation of the fully restored Silver Iris, an 85 foot long stainless steel 1952 Budd railcar. It houses 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, a lounge, and a kitchen.
We plan to offer excursions and chartered trips soon.
In an effort to attain this goal, we are holding a benefit concert on Sunday afternoon, February 9th, featuring the only four time World Ragtime Piano Champion, Adam Swanson.
This piano virtuoso will astound you! Adam G. Swanson will play music from the days when the railroad was king, including songs about rails, roads and ragtime. Although classically trained, Mr. Swanson is a four time world champion in ragtime competition, and the bulk of his February performance will include music from the ragtime and early jazz eras.
Please read the article, “When the Railroad Was King,” https://www.abqjournal.com/1403883/when-the-railroad-was-king.html to learn more about where the proceeds from this concert will go. (The WHEELS Museum)
