Hello Everyone:
Next Wednesday, May 15, 2019, we will return to the Cienega Picnic Area to resume the work that was scheduled to be done at the cancelled project from last Wednesday. The tasks have changed a bit as the SRD Fire Crew has already done some work there and are
scheduled to return there this coming Monday. They have done some chipping of the slash on the road and may have finished that. The slash at the Group Area remains as does most of the cut wood. The fire crew has worked on the large fallen tree at the top of the PA and will be responsible for removing the damaged picnic table there. The scope of our work will depend on what the fire crew does. We will not know that until next week. A number of our volunteers, including Sam, will be participating in projects at Valles Caldera National Park next week, so the number of participants available will be reduced.

As it now stands, our primary work will be as follows:
1. Chipping Slash -- Slash has been piled along the PA road and In the Group Area parking lot.

2. Hauling Fuel Wood -- Double trunk juniper wood is piled on the road shoulder, and, if the
felled hazard tree near the upper parking lot has been bucked, wood will also be piled there.

Meet at the FOSM Guard Station at 8 am to load equipment. Note the early meeting time.
Please park in the north front parking lot and walk to the Guard Station, or we will meet people in the front
parking lot and have the JHA there.

Wear long pants, long sleeve shirts, and sturdy boots with slip-resistant soles. Bring work gloves and hard hats. If you do not have a hard
hat, one will be provided. Sawyers are required to also wear 8-inch high boots and chaps. Bring eye and ear protection. Swampers working
near saws are also required to wear chaps. Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Reply directly to me at rjlowder at msn.com
