Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, Dec. 29, FOSM volunteers will continue to work on the large hazard tree that was felled at Cienega Spring some time ago. The gate to Cienega Picnic Area has been closed and locked; therefore, we can continue to process this wood that will be donated to the church wood ministry next spring. We will split the large heavy rounds into quarters so that we will be able to split it later on Lou’s power splitter. Another team will begin to cut the limbs off and continue to buck the large trunk with chain saws. We will use a chain saw with a ripping chain to cut two kerfs in the rounds to help with driving steel wedges. Bring a sledge hammer, if you have one.
Meet at 9 am at the FOSM Guard Station. Wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and boots with slip-resistant soles. Bring a hard hat, eye and ear protection, lunch, drinks, snacks, work gloves, and a warm coat.
Please email me if you have questions. samgbeard:@msn.com
This project may be postponed due to weather.
